Gastric Balloon for weight loss
You have tried everything to lose weight, and by everything we mean all kinds of exercises including weightlifting, cardio, HIIT workouts and a series of specialised diets with no carbs and all protein, and what seems to work for others do not make any change for you? You are feeling exhausted and in a way desperate and think you might never succeed your weight loss goals? You want to put an end to this misery, but feeling scared of undergoing a bariatric weight loss surgery like gastric sleeve? Well, gastric balloons might actually be a life changing option for you, a really safe one indeed.
What kind of balloons are there?
There are 3 types of gastric balloons:
1- Swallowable Gastric Balloon
2- Intragastric Ballon for 6 months
3- Intragastric Ballon for 1 year
Swallowable Gastric Balloon
During this procedure, they do not cut your stomach open and they do not even need to feed the gastric balloon down. There is no need for a surgical operation. There is no invasive damage to your body, to your guts or to your stomach. This swallowable gastric balloon is an incredible innovation in balloon technology that does not require endoscopy, sedation, anesthesia or a removal procedure. The swallowable gastric balloon does not require hospitalization, but only a 20-minute outpatient appointment. There is no endoscopy to feed the balloon down the throat, simply swallow the capsule with a glass of water. When its position is confirmed by X-Ray, the balloon is filled with saline solution and the small catheter is removed. Since sedation is not used, you can even drive yourself home.
The swallowable gastric balloon occupies a large area in your stomach and acts as a built-in portion control. It helps you feel full after eating a small amount of food. The balloon occupying space in your stomach makes you unable to eat much. Thus you eat less than usual and you lose weight. Of course we give you a list of the necessary vitamins and supplements, so that you do not have vitamin or mineral deficiencies.
It stays in place for 4 months until a time-activated relief valve on the device opens and the balloon deflates and passes naturally. The uninstall procedure is not required. It simply goes away by poop.
IntraGastric Balloon (Endoscopic)
Why does it cause weight loss?
1- Decreases the amount of food you can eat
2- Increases the feeling of fullness for longer
3- It is designed to fit comfortably on the tummy.
How is it performed?
The Intragastric Balloon is implanted into the stomach in a 30-minute minimally invasive endoscopic outpatient procedure while the patient is under light sedation. After the balloon is placed, it is inflated with a sterile solution. The balloon partially fills the stomach and provides a feeling of satiety.
What happens after the procedure?
The balloon is removed after 6 months. During this time period, patients should remain on a structured diet program to maintain weight loss. A recent study revealed that patients lost an average of 10.2 percent of their body weight. Success in intragastric balloon placement also depends on participation in nutrition and exercise programs, which are an important component of our comprehensive balloon therapy program.
