360 Body Lift / Total Body Lift is the most comprehensive of all lower body lifts. This procedure is unique because it is designed to address total body contouring. Most often combined with HD Liposuction, 360 body lift can bring significant improvement in the shape and contour of your entire torso. The success of lower body lifts depends a great deal on skin elasticity and the amount of fat present in the body. Body lift procedures are highly individualized, thus they can produce maximum benefit for those who are in general good health with a positive outlook and realistic expectations.
360° Body lift gives your surgeon optimal access to tighten corpses and underlying tissues in real time and to remove excess skin. The incision is a circumferential incision, not only lifting the skin on the trunk but helping to lift the skin on the thighs and even on the buttocks. 360° body lift decreases the circumference of the trunk, lifts buttocks up, and gives an unparalleled profile to the side of the buttocks. If the back and thighs are also operated on, a total amount of 10 to 12 liters of liposuction fat is generally removed. A lower body lift through full 360-degree treatment, also called 360 degree Circumferential body lift, significantly improves the entire contour of the body, including abdomen, waist, hips, and buttocks. It is often the last one-step surgical procedure after weight or bariatric loss, joined with arms and breasts elevations. With the removal of this amount of fat, gradual shrinking of the skin occurs over a period of 6 months to 1 year. In addition, good elastic skin is needed for improved results.
The 360° Body Lift, also referred to as total body contouring, offers a number of advantages when it comes to enhancing the overall contour of the body, tightening loose skin, and erasing localized deposits of fat. If your body displays the rigors of aging, weight loss, or pregnancy, a body lift can have a profound impact on the way you look and feel. After having this procedure, patients frequently experience an increase in self-confidence and improved comfort during daily activities, as they no longer feel weighed down by excess skin or embarrassed to show their body in social situations. Clothing may also fit more comfortably after a body lift. One of the biggest benefits of a 360° body lift is that patients will no longer find themselves holding in loose skin or concerned about what it looks like when they kick back and relax in a swimsuit. There will not be a dress or pair of pants in the world that you can’t rock after this body contouring procedure. Here is a brief overview of procedures to improve the contour of the body:
A lower body lift and an abdominoplasty concentrate on the area from below the ribcage to the mid-thigh or above the knee. These procedures can assist with the area from the hips to the ankles, but not the trunk or buttocks. This address may leave a noticeable ridge at the remaining unaltered region of the body. An upper body lift is the most commonly requested procedure after massive weight loss or redundant skin/flaccid muscle post pregnancy. Upper body lifts lift the breasts and tighten the back and arms. A circumferential body lift tightens both the trunk and the lower body. A circumferential body lift addresses the maximal amount of redundant tissue and the greatest area of skin laxity all at once. Clients are left with a 360° better contour than lower and upper body lifts combined.
A 360° body lift aims to create a tightened, lifted, and contoured appearance from the arms, front, side, and back of those who have lost weight significantly. It can be likened to a cosmetic procedure that takes the body from top to toe and gives it a new glow. However, it is important to remember that a 360° body lift is a major operation that often takes up to 6 hours to complete. So, it is not suitable to be combined with another body surgery due to its complexity. So, who are the candidates for the 360° body lift? And is it applicable to be performed at every stage of a morbidly obese person’s life?
There are some basic criteria to identify the candidates for the 360° body lift, as well as all body contouring surgeries, that are not different from everyone in any age as long as they are generally healthy. Firstly, the ideal candidates who are suited to undergo the 360° body lift are those who have remained weight stable for at least three months following the bypass or two cycles of a period. This is not proposed to be even at the heavier stage. This is very important because if the patient loses weight after the body lift, the loose skin will continue to hang down and they will be exactly back to their starting point. Furthermore, the ideal candidates for a 360° body lift are also non-smokers, who may or may not be doing so voluntarily. In addition, alcohol should only be consumed in small amounts and not in conjunction with any other substance abuse issues, with no controlled comorbidity in mental health issues. Prior to this procedure, potential candidates must have completed their pregnancies and/or chosen not to have children because the results of this surgery can potentially be undone during and after pregnancies. In many cases, liposuction and/or a lipoabdominoplasty doesn’t fix the deflated skin or abdominoplasty.
The initial consultation with the surgeon is primarily to discuss the indications and contraindications of surgery, but also to familiarize the patient with information about the procedure, possible complications, and, if applicable, alternatives. Before scheduling the surgery, the surgeon will order a variety of lab tests to assess the internal conditions of the potential patient, such as a blood test, electrocardiogram, and a complete blood count. For obese patients, weight reduction to a Body Mass Index lower than or equal to 30 kg/m2 is suggested. The decrease in body weight should be achieved six to twelve months prior to surgery, allowing the patient’s nutritional needs to be adequately obtained from their daily diet.
Smoking is an important risk factor for wound complications. For smokers and obese patients, postponing body contouring is suggested until they have reached their ideal body weight or quit smoking, as recommended in existing literature. A quite interesting issue to consider is the weaning period. As well as completely quitting smoking, the minimum amount of time before surgery must be taken into account. Many indications in the literature suggest a minimum period of four weeks. Since vasoconstriction affects wound healing in the initial days after smoking cessation, it is suggested that at least one month be taken into account, permitting the return of normal microcirculation. Both these indications continue to constitute a large part of the requirements for these surgeries in order to enable the best surgical outcome and patient approval, as stated in the world’s largest organizations by the ASAPS (American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery). This applies to every person, independent of conditions. In facilitating the best outcome, it is essential to do what the patient can in preparing for the operation, undoubtedly the most critical issue which will significantly improve burden loss. For the successful result of a 360° body lift, both spiritual and behavioral choices produce positive effects. Such psycho-social considerations greatly increase the success of plastic surgery. It is mandatory that future patients must be well educated and willing to comply with such preparations!
More women and men are candidates for the 360° body lift than for any type of abdominoplasty procedure. The 360° body lift is one of the most powerful procedures available for contouring the body after massive weight loss. The combination of infra-mammary, lateral thoracoplasty, flankplasty, and reverse abdominalplasty along with the circumferential lower and lateral buttock lift is the foundation of the 360° body lift. The circumferential lower and lateral buttock lift incorporates an elliptical excision of lower buttock tissue that is 1.5 or greater from the inferior gluteal fold and a fleur-de-lis excision of upper buttock skin used to maintain the natural creases of the buttocks and maximal elevation of the loose tissue.
360° body lift may be performed in the outpatient or in-patient setting depending on the patient’s general health, the time required, and anticipated amount of pain. Operating time typically ranges from 3 to 5 h. Circumferential lower and lateral body lift includes the lower back lift, high lateral tension abdominoplasty, and buttock lift. The surgery is broken down into several stages: marking/positioning, inframammary scar, and lateral thoracoplasty, lowering, transfer, and repair, marking the lower limit of excision, liposuction of the buttocks/torsoplasty, mounded, and to the traction created by suturing, removal of excess, it’s split into 4 categories. This can be completed within a week or can be performed over several months based on the patient and facilities.
At the end of the procedure, you will be taken to recovery room and then initiate mobilization after the recovery from anesthesia. You need to minimize fluid drinking the first day after surgery to help your body decrease post-operative swelling. Because you will be taking an extensive body lift surgery, make sure to arrange your aftercare differently than what you are used to. You have to ask for 11-12 hours per day of day and night meals arranged by relatives, private nurses, services or delivery services until our team approves you after the 7th day of surgery.
Initially, there will be some bruising, swelling, and soreness, but these symptoms abate in the week following the surgery. Mild discomfort can be managed with prescription oral medications. Connective tissue support garments are placed around your mid-section to minimize movement. Also, small, thin surgical drains of a Gummy Bear consistency are placed for the first few days and continue to drain fluids into small canisters for a period of about 2 weeks. These linens are “clipped” daily from your stitches/suture locations depending on the progress of the healing set by us once you leave the surgery center. Serious exercise must be limited during the post-op recovery phase for 6 weeks. Light exercise such as walking is encouraged and a daily heel or lower extremity calf therapeutic massage to help improve circulation. Swelling and surgical discoloration in the affected area may exacerbate these symptoms. Factors such as swelling, chronic diseases, and immune levels could prolong the healing process. Some of the complications can be reversible by further surgeries. It will take as much as 6-8 weeks for the bruising and some swelling to fully disappear. During your post-op check-ups, your well-being will be closely monitored every week by the best post-surgical staff. Bring any unusual ongoing conditions to our attention through a follow-up call between scheduled appointments at the office.
A: There are several photography examples of the 360° body lift on different body types and skin loosenesses that show the aesthetic optimization potential of the procedure. Based on lifestyle changes after the 360° body lift, patients profoundly change by choosing a healthier food intake, quitting smoking, drinking alcohol, or other bad lifestyle habits. Again, this shows that the positive aesthetic enhancement also results in a very positive psychological impact. Visceral adipose tissue and body mass index decreased while muscle mass and body fat percentage increased in a statistically significant manner.
B: Due to an improved diet regimen and regular physical exercise, patients maintained a steady weight and their lifestyle. After a 360° body lift, a consequent reduction in the size of the body and also buttock lymphedema is seen. The results are not as persistent as after liposuction with excisional surgery like an abdominoplasty, although these improvement results are present. Ultrasound examination up to 8 years postoperatively demonstrates rather small volumes of residual fat. The 360° body contouring and reduction surgery is the only effective body shaping surgery. However, the loss of visceral body fat tissue is less likely to restore in the long-term than subcutaneous body fat. Sustained changes towards more effective subcutaneous to visceral body fat circulation were proven by the 360° torsorraphy belt: there were increased levels of subcutaneous to visceral fat removal under the null hypothesis as a result of an increased lipolytic rate of the newfound fat cells after a lifestyle change, the contrary statistical consequences were proven. No extra skin problems are encountered by 360° body lift recipients if the patients adhere to their new lifestyle due to the skin remaining in a natural tension state over a long time period.
Corresponding & Complementary Procedures
That said, the 360° Body Lift is also enthusiastically “stand alone”: it greatly improves the overall result and, regardless of whether or not the patient chooses to undergo additional treatments within the same surgical session, it will stand on its own as a remarkable and life-changing transformation. Sometimes, and in my opinion, it is always a possibility, an optimal “combination” of treatments is not their being performed in the same session, but in the sequence that best benefits the individual patient — more specifically referring to derotational body lift surgeries and the potential for minimizing or eliminating the need for skin resection around the abdomen. It is the synergistic nature of these procedures — the way in which they work together to enhance the overall result — that speaks to any commonality or “sameness” in these treatments. In many ways, though not completely or solely, and in my mind, no one would want them to be, they are best when they are stand-alone. The same can be said of any of these procedures in isolation.
